Alan Stubbs Alan Stubbs is keen to distance Hibs from the favourites tag at Ibrox tonight.

At 2/1 the Edinburgh side have been well backed to enjoy a third successive win over Sevco and pile the pressure on the crisis torn Ibrox side.

Under Stubbs Hibs have shown glimpses of greatness this season but have let themselves down with a number of draws hampering their chances of pushing Hearts for an automatic promotion place.

Two convincing wins over Sevco and a crowd around the 10,000 mark will eliminate any fear factor with Stubbs ignoring the circus to ensure his players deliver another high quality display.

I think people expect us to win but what we have done in the two previous games is not going to have a significant bearing on this match, it’s totally different,” the Hibs boss said with few buying into that theory.

In the previous games we have tried to focus on ourselves and I will sound like a broken record because it will be exactly the same this time.

People sometimes don’t understand that the hardest thing is to win a game in football. They’ll look at us winning 3-1 and 4-0 and think it’s a matter of us just turning up to win the game.

If it was as easy as that we’d all be doing different things. It’s easy to look at what is going on, on and off the pitch, and say we are going to try to capitalise on this or that but, if Rangers had our record of one defeat in 21, we’d still be going there with the same intent.”

Stubbs added: “We are not worried about what is happening with Rangers on and off the pitch. We are going there to focus on what we know we can do to win a game of football. We’ve done that in every game we have played this season.

People will be expecting us to win, but that’s not what I am saying. What I am expecting is us to go there and put on a performance.

If we do that, I know we can give Rangers problems but I am also expecting a response from Rangers to last week. They have had a really bad time but they still have good players and are second in the league. They will come again.”
