14. Stefan JohansenStefan Johansen is in no rush to quit Celtic.

Alongside Craig Gordon the midfielder is among the leading candidates for the end of season Player of the Year awards after excelling under Ronny Deila.

Like Victor Wanyama, Gary Hooper, Ki Sung Yueng, Joe Ledley and Fraser Forster it seems inevitable that Johansen will move on to the riches of English football.

With a treble to play for and the possibility of Champions League football to look forward to the 24-year-old is in no rush to end his stay in Glasgow.

I thrive in Celtic and I just keep getting better and better,” he told reporters ahead of Norway’s clash with Croatia. “There’s no reason to look for other things to do.

“I think you (reporters) dig a lot about what I should do. There is a club I thrive with, I’m in a club that is looking to win trophies and I thrive on that.”

After signing for Neil Lennon in January 2014 Johansen is pleased that he is now working under the coach that sold him from Stromsgodset.

“Ronny trained a small club like Stromsgodset and had us playing really good football,” Johansen said when he collected the SPFL Player of the Month award for February.

“Back home a lot of teams want to play long balls and fight. So he was popular for the way he had us playing and you are seeing that at Celtic too. In the past, Norway was famous for long-ball football under Egil Olsen and it’s still a bit like that.

“But some of the teams are starting to do well in a different way. The national team are playing a modern style.

“There’s lot of fitness required but you can see it working. Do I get tired? Often! You have to be smart about it but that is one of my strengths.

“I have always put a lot of energy into the games and I just want to help the team if the gaffer wants you to do press.”
