The SPFL have produced another spectacular video to celebrate Celtic’s League Cup triumph.
In just over two minutes the video captures all the magic of the Hampden final with an emphasis on supporters as they enjoy seeing the hoops capture the first domestic trophy of the season.
With special shots of Scott Brown rubbing his six pack and the Ronny Roar, as well as the goals and key moments, the video clip is the perfect reminder of how Celtic claimed the trophy.
On the park it was fairly plain sailing for the favourites as they took advantage of Sean Dillon receiving treatment to open the scoring through Kris Commons.
From the moment the ball was crossed into the penalty area by Anthony Stokes Commons remained focused as his initial shot was deflected then touched onto the post with the former Derby County man waiting to pounce on the rebound.
Dillon’s red card in the 55th minute virtually ended United’s hopes of lifting the trophy but it wasn’t until the 79th minute that substitute James Forrest put the game beyond United when he drilled home his first goal of the season.
With Rod Stewart waiting to present Brown with the trophy it was a special day as over 30,000 Celtic fans acclaimed their heroes.
After picking up the elusive trophy Celtic face the same opponents on Wednesday night as they attempt to win a Scottish Cup semi-final place against Inverness Caley Thistle.
On Saturday the final part of the four match sequel will be played out in the SPFL with the hoops looking to bounce back from the 1-0 loss to St Johnstone to maintain daylight from Aberdeen’s challenge.
