GriffithsLeigh Griffiths caught the attention of Celtic fans during the visit to St Mirren by munching a Tunnock’s tea-cake.

The striker was left out of Ronny Deila’s starting XI and was caught on camera tucking into the popular snack.

With little happening on the park the teacake became the main talking point as Celtic toiled through a goal-less first half with the side anchored at the bottom of the SPFL.

Anthony Stokes was given the nod for the lone striking role with Griffiths joined on the bench by John Guidetti, Nir Bitton and Gary Mackay-Stevens.

Kris Commons and James Forrest had shots on target during the first half but neither effort attracted the same level on scrutiny as Griffiths and his choice of snack.

Fellow fan dksglen added: “ Leigh Griffiths. He Eats what he wants.”

After the goal-less first half Celtic broke the deadlock in the 64th minute when James Forrest drilled home a low shot after Adam Matthews hit the bye line.

Eleven minutes from the final whistle Stefan Johansen tied up the points when he netted from the penalty spot.

Ronny Deila used three substitutes during the second half with Griffiths and Guidetti left on the bench as Bitton, Mackay-Steven and Efe Ambrose were given a run out.

Griffiths partner Vikki Burns got in the fun tweeting to the Daily Record.
