LustigMikael Lustig could be in the Celtic side to face Malmo on Tuesday night!

The shock news emerged from Ronny Deila’s media conference to preview tomorrow’s match against Dundee United.

Lustig was substituted by Efe Ambrose in the 80th minute of Wednesday’s 3-2 win over the Swedes with some reports claiming that he was in tears as he was stretchered off.

The full back has suffered a catalogue of injuries over the last few seasons despite undergoing hip surgery in 2013.

Asked about Lustig’s fitness today Deila said: “It doesn’t seem to be as serious as we thought in the beginning. He has a chance on Tuesday.”

A fully fit Lustig would be a major boost for Celtic’s hopes of progressing through to the group stage of the Champions League.

If Lustig fails to make it Deila will be forced to chose between Ambrose and Saidy Janko to play at right-back.

Since the final whistle on Wednesday night a number of accusations and claims have emerged from the Malmo camp led by manager Age Hareide.

Deila wasn’t prepared to bite back at the claims from Malmo with his focus centred on tomorrow’s match against Dundee United.

With the Malmo tie coming three days after the match against Dundee United Deila hinted that he will make changes for the trip to Tannadice.

Our squad is the biggest and strongest in the league,” the Celtic boss said. “It’s important to use it wisely. We want to win tomorrow.”

Scott Allan is in line to make his Celtic debut tomorrow with Dylan McGeoch believed to be close to completing his move to Hibs.
