Warburton MarkRookie boss Mark Warburton still hasn’t got over the failure to sign Scott Allan.

After orchestrating a month long campaign to unsettle Championship rivals Hibs the former city banker looked on in surprise as Celtic tied up a deal for the midfielder in 24 hours.

Unable to cope with the failure of his directors, who are still in negotiations with midfield fulcrum John Eustace, Warby claimed last week that he would only discuss players that wanted to play for his club.

When your club puts in three paltry bids with payments staged over 24 months it’s hard to get round to discussing how much a player wishes play for a particular club.

Falling back on the dignity and integrity card that was favoured by the old club that died owing money to over 200 creditors and thousands of debenture holders, Warby defended his employers yesterday over their failure to sign Allan.

Using a time served management trick the former Brentford supremo claimed that he wouldn’t discuss the transfer failure before going on to give his in-depth views on the issue.

I would like to talk about it but I won’t,” said the man who used to be drinking cups of coffee from 6am at his brokers desk while planning future Champions League campaigns on a power-point presentation. “I clearly believe that as a club have acted with integrity and professionalism throughout the whole saga.

So I’m not going to lower ourselves now. I think we’re far better than that. Hopefully we have displayed the right level of professionalism throughout the whole saga.

I’m not going to comment about another manager far from it but I’ve always said that I only want players here who want to play for Rangers Football Club. I have made that really clear.

I’m guessing he didn’t want to be at Hibs, that’s what I’m presuming, but that’s not my business.”

Perhaps if Warbo turned his skills from the city to the finances of his current club he might gain an understanding as to why he has only been able to pay ‘undisclosed fees’ for players that no other club has shown interest in.

When a club needs £9.5m of emergency loans, which remain unpaid, to get through a season and makes no structural changes only the desperate are likely to sign on.

With season ticket sales more than 10,000 down on projections the search for emergency loans is likely to begin in November with Warby’s experience and contacts in the city of London likely to be more valuable than his brief spell as a coach stalking solvent football clubs.

Paul Murray started singing Scotts praises way back, in order to tap him up. Then players and ex players did the exact same thing, on a daily basis. It’s the sort of INTEGRITY and PROFESSIONALISM, you expect from GASL and nae Money Murray.
But it blew back massively in their faces, and their clubs are the laughing of British football. It’s great hearing their cringe worthy excuses, as only the zombies believe them. In Dave King they trust !
