Your Grand Children Will Be Celtic FansScott Allan WILL be a Celtic player by Saturday.

Despite a month long saga to take the ‘self confessed Rangers (IL) fan’ to Ibrox the midfielder is poised to sign a four year contract with Scotland’s biggest club.

Dylan McGeough plus cash will move in the opposite direction along the M8 with Hibs hopeful of taking one other player from Celtic on a season long loan.

Talks over a move intensified over the last 48 hours with Allan happy to join Celtic leaving the two clubs to finalise the terms of the deal.

Allan is braced for the anger of Sevco fans over the move but with Hibs refusing to deal with the meagre bids from Paul Murray the lure of European football and having his salary guaranteed has convinced him that joining Celtic suits his career aspirations.

Despite the month long campaign to take him to Ibrox Allan never spoke about the possibility.

Despite Celtic’s strength in depth in midfield Ronny Deila is aware of interest from England in Nir Bitton and Stefan Johansen and sees Allan as a potential replacement with Tom Rogic and Liam Henderson in the same category.

Asked about the possibility of a move for the Hibs midfielder at this afternoon’s media conference the Celtic boss refused to comment.

Allan’s transfer comes at the end of the most disastrous spin campaign supervised by Jim Traynor’s Level 5 PR operation.

While the campaign has clearly unsettled Hibs the sight of Allan wearing a Celtic shirt will be a devastating blow for Dave King’s ‘whatever it takes’ budget for the new season.

Although Mr King’s campaign has managed to reel in 31,000 season ticket holders the realisation that the South African based businessman was unable to muster up £500,000 for ‘a self confessed Rangers (IL) fan’ will be difficult to justify to King’s believers.

From Paul Murray going public with his admiration through three failed bids to Andy Halliday proclaiming Scotty as his long lost brother everything was set up for a move to Glasgow- but not to the home of Scotland’s champions.
