DeilaRonny Deila was left irritated by Celtic’s failure to beat Hearts.

A week after putting six goals past Dundee the hoops drew a blank for the first time in domestic matches missing a great chance to eat into Aberdeen’s lead at the top of the table.

Loan Celt Ryan Christie scored the winning goal- and got sent off- as Inverness Caley Thistle handed the Dons their first Premiership defeat of the season.

Celtic missed a succession of first half chances then found virtually no way through the Hearts defence as they mopped up a number of cross balls after the interval.

I’m irritated because our performance today was good, and you can’t create more than we did in the first-half,” the Celtic boss said.

I don’t think they had a chance in the whole game, apart from maybe at the end when we got the red card, and that wasn’t really a goal chance.

We probably had about 70% possession and created a lot of chances, but we could talk about that all day long. It’s about scoring goals and we didn’t do that today.”

Deila added: “As a manager I was pleased with the performance and that we created chances but very irritated that we couldn’t get more chances out of all the crosses we had in the second-half and that we were not more effective in the first-half. If we’d got one there would have been more space and we’d have scored even more.

When you see those chances again, as a striker, you can’t get any more clear-cut chances than that. Leigh has maybe had four or five chances alone, but he has scored in every game now for a long period.

Every player has ups and downs throughout the season and I’m sure he’s irritated himself that he hasn’t scored.”
