Deila: I’m not thinking about my future

Ronny Deila has no concerns over his future despite Celtic’s 2-1 home defeat from Molde.

Remarkably Celtic can still qualify from their Europa League group but after four matches without a win, conceding nine goals, that appears highly unlikely.

It was an insipid performance from the hoops tonight as they finished the match with ten men following a red card for Nir Bitton, substitute Tyler Blackett was substituted with only the performance of Kieran Tierney providing any consolation.

Despite an almost unblemished domestic record Deila’s European record has attracted heavy criticism from supporters but the Norwegian sees no reason to consider his future.

I don’t think about my position, that’s something for you to write about,” the Celtic boss said. “I have to get ready for next season and the last two matches (in the Europa League).

We have done very well domestically, in Europe we haven’t reached the level we want to be at.

I will be judged on a lot of things. It’s the results in Europe, if we lost the league that’s not so good. It’s about developing a team that can get into the Champions League, get a green light through through the whole system from the youths so we can get up players like KT (Kieran Tierney). He played with heart, it was an unbelievable performance on a dark day.

We score a lot of goals but we concede too many easy goals. You can see the results in the media but I have to see behind it, every game we play in Europe we concede too many easy goals, I can’t make any excuse, that’s something I have to handle and we have to develop.”

Celtic face Ajax at home on November 26 with neither club having recorded a win in the Europa League, tonight Ajax drew 0-0 at home to Fenerbahce.
