John HartsonJohn Hartson will be glad to see Ronny Deila shown the door from Celtic and has highlighted a catalogue of errors throughout the Norwegians two seasons in Glasgow.

The Welshman hasn’t been quite as outspoken as his former team-mate Chris Sutton but is dismayed at the way Celtic’s season has fallen apart.

From losing out on a Champions League place to Malmo through to cup defeats from Ross County and Sevco the hoops are left hoping to win the Premiership title with few fans confident despite an eight point lead over Aberdeen with five matches left to play.

Using his column in the Scottish Sun Hartson said: “Celtic are a team close to my heart and it’s killed me to see the way he’s managed them. From his head-scratching tactics, to his failure to sort out a defence which conceded one diabolical goal after another in Europe.

From his baffling decision- making with players who should be playing every single week, to a signing policy which has the dressing room crammed with players who are nowhere near good enough for the club.

And don’t get me started on that embarrassment he calls the Ronny Roar. No, there isn’t just one reason why Deila should be axed by Celtic after two seasons in charge, there’s a catalogue.

The fact of the matter is that Sunday’s Old Firm performance against ‘Rangers’ was a shambles.

Some may point the finger at the players for the way they failed to turn up, but the buck stops with the manager. He’s the one whose job it is to get the side prepared and he clearly didn’t do that.”

Hartson added: “When he goes, there’s only one man he can blame and that’s himself. Look at the way his team defended in Europe.

I lost count of the number of cheap goals they conceded and yet Deila didn’t do anything to rectify that problem. It was staring him in the face and he stood back.

Then there’s the issue with Kris Commons who, for me, is the best player at the club. Why has Deila turned against him?

Why has Commons been left kicking his heels on the bench every week when he’s the type of player who could win him games? It doesn’t make any sense, just like how it leaves me cold that Celtic play with one striker every week.

Leigh Griffiths has had an excellent season, but he was so isolated against ‘Rangers’ he didn’t stand a chance.

I think back to my time and it was always two from three and we’d run over the top of teams. Celtic don’t ever look like doing that these days. They have no creativity and yet Commons is bursting with talent. For me it’s been one of Deila’s biggest failings.

Looking at the manager after the game on Sunday, I see a man who is broken. He looked beaten at time up.

All I know is Deila is finished at Celtic and I’m not the least bit sad about that.”
