Celtic wrapped up 5-in-a-row with a 3-2 win over Aberdeen that summed up the season perfectly.
For the first 45 minutes the football was slick, when the third goal went in it looked like Aberdeen were heading for another brutal defeat.
Unfortunately after the Mikael Lustig had added to Patrick Roberts first half double the wheels came off with Aberdeen causing panic throughout the stadium with two rapid strikes and coming close to equalising.
After celebrating the title triumph Ronny Deila said: “It means we are the best team in Scotland. I have fantastic staff around me and the players have worked really, really hard. It’s good when you cross the line.
“In the league we have been consistent but the last two months we have not had the same drive and energy in the team. There have been some bad results which make the season a bit grey, rather than white.”
Two goal Roberts added: “The champagne was flowing the dressing room. We should enjoy ourselves and then get ready for the remaining games. I always enjoy playing football and to score goals in front of these fans is fantastic.”
Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes said: “We had some great chances. Second half, we showed fight and good aggression. Similar to the whole season, we gave them a fright but fell short. We rattled them and the two goals were no more than we deserved.
“Congratulations to Celtic, only losing three games is a great achievement. It’s important to me that we beat last season’s points tally, so that’s the focus for the last two matches.”
