Mark Warburton will snub any move to take him to Everton as he holds out for a move to La Liga.

The former city trader is one of the most in-demand managers in the game after guiding Sevco to within 90 minutes of a historic treble.

Derby County are keen to take Warbs south of the border but after 15 minutes of fame it seems that La Liga will be the next stop on his meteoric rise through the managerial ranks.

Asked about a report that he will take over from Roberto Martinez the Sevco boss said: “Who is it this time? I can’t stop that. The only time you get linked to big clubs is when the players are doing well. It’s as simple as that.

“If you lose 12 on the spin you won’t be linked with any jobs. Don’t forget they won the league convincingly, they won the Petrofac and beat Celtic in the semi-final and have reached a domestic final.

“It’s all credit to the players. It will be Barcelona and Real Madrid next!”

That disrespectful comment isn’t likely to be welcomed by Zinedine Zidane or Luis Enrique as they battle for the La Liga crown.

Sevco completed their Championship campaign with an exciting four goal thriller against St Mirren who finished the match with veterans Jim Goodwin and Stevie EBT Thompson gracing the pitch for the final time.

Warbo is expected to sweep the board in the Manager of the Year awards despite finishing the season with 11 points less than Hearts managed last season.
