Patrick RobertsPATRICK Roberts was the main man as Celtic wrapped up their fifth consecutive title by beating Aberdeen 3-2 at Celtic Park.

The on-loan teenager had the fans out of their seats with two first half strikes that showcased his ability perfectly.

After being held back following his move from Manchester City Roberts has played a key part in the title run in with goals scored against Hearts and Aberdeen.

Following yesterday’s double he said: “Coming here, I wanted to get games and show what I’m capable of, and I’m starting to do that. It’s good to get the reward of being champions today and getting two good goals as well.

For the first goal I just came inside, brought my head up and there was nobody beside me so I looked at the goal and just hit it and it went in the top corner, so I was happy with that.

I love scoring goals. The feeling is unbelievable and once you get that feeling you don’t want it to stop, as Griff would tell you.

He’s scored nearly 40 goals and he just loves doing it. It’s great having him in the side and he guides me through, and it was good to get on the scoresheet today.”

Departing Celtic manager Ronny Deila said: “I’ve coached a lot of talents but he (Roberts) is special. You can see that every time he gets the ball something happens. He lifts you up from your seat and he is only 19-years-old.

You see every time it’s an important occasion he gets better so he has a self-belief and confidence that’s special and you need that sometimes.

In the end, here, it’s about results and he shows the quality that you need to get Celtic into the Champions League.”
