Celtic’s much anticipated ‘pink’ kit can now be viewed in full.
After months of speculation the third kit has now been revealed as closer to maroon than pink- how it will look on supersized fans in an XXX shirt remains to be seen.
Patrick Roberts, Keiran Tierney, Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths looked less than comfortable modelling the kit which was apparently inspired by the ticket colour from the 1967 European Cup Final (the programme cover was mainly light blue).
It’s not known when Celtic will first wear the kit which has been designed by New Balance who are now in the second year of their Celtic deal.
At the kit launch Richard Wright, General Manager of New Balance Football said: “The Lisbon Lions’ feat 49 years ago was truly remarkable, made even more so by winning not just one but five trophies that season.
“These men – all born within a 30-mile radius of Celtic Park – have left a legacy that may never be repeated by any team in the modern era again. This kit is a testament to this achievement and as we look forward to the future.”
Supporter reaction to the new kit has been typically mixed, with twitter again providing the outlet for a range of views.
