Dave King has snubbed Mark Warburton’s plea for new players.

After being hammered 3-1 at home by Burnley last week the former city trader pleaded for new faces in time for today’s match with Hamilton.

Warbo said: “We need one or two more, we’ve said that for a number of weeks but you’ve got to get the right players in.”

It seems that Mr King won’t put his hands in his pocket to pay for the right players with Warbo forced to face Hamilton with the squad of players that crashed to Burnley.

While Brendan Rodgers splashed out £3m for Scott Sinclair Warbo was facing rejection in the loan market with King unwilling to pay the market rate.

Yesterday Warbo admitted: “This week we went for a young loan player and eight or nine Championship clubs were in for him too. They could all pay full wages and that would smash our highest out of the water – twice over or more.

Our selling point is the weight of expectation, playing in front of 50,000 every other week, as well as Old Firm games. Rangers have to find a way of beating it. It is relationships with certain clubs, showing what we can offer.

In January Spurs cut short Nathan Oduwa’s loan spell at Ibrox with the London side less than happy with the way he was being used by the former White Hart Lane programme seller.

Former Celt Massimo Donati will make his Premier League debut for Hamilton at Ibrox.
