Tom Rogic ended a two year twitter exile to celebrate his new Celtic deal.

The disappointment of missing out on the World Cup through injury forced the midfielder off the social media network in August 2014 as he braced himself for lengthy rehab.

With less than a year left on his current contract he signed a new three year deal and decided to share the news with his 51,000 followers.

He tweeted: “Very happy to have signed a new contract with @celticfc Thanks for all the messages and support .”

A number of English Championship sides were credited with an interest in the midfielder but the arrival of Brendan Rodgers turned out to be a game changer.

Speaking to the Celtic website about his new deal Rogic said: “The manager’s had a very positive impact on the club so far and I’m sure we will continue to build on that.

It’s a great time to be at the club, and for me to have my future sorted and know that I’m going to be working with the manager for the coming seasons is great.

The manager’s had a say in me re-signing here, and he has played a big role in me deciding to stay here, and you can tell he’s a top-class manager.

“I still feel that I have a lot to give and I know that, under him, I can develop and progress and contribute to the team’s success.”

Rogic joined Celtic from Central Coast Mariners in January 2013 for a fee believed to be in the region of £600,000.
