Tom Rogic is delighted to have settled his future by signing a new three year deal with Celtic.

A number of English Championship sides have been keeping tabs on the midfielder whose original contract ran until the end of the season.

Brendan Rodgers has no shortage of midfield options to choose from but after working with the Australian internationalist decided to get him nailed down onto a new contract.

The manager’s had a very positive impact on the club so far and I’m sure we will continue to build on that,” Rogic told the Celtic website. “It’s a great time to be at the club, and for me to have my future sorted and know that I’m going to be working with the manager for the coming seasons is great.

The manager’s had a say in me re-signing here, and he has played a big role in me deciding to stay here, and you can tell he’s a top-class manager.

“I still feel that I have a lot to give and I know that, under him, I can develop and progress and contribute to the team’s success.”

Rogic joined Celtic in January 2013 from A League side Central Coast Mariners having come to Celtic’s attention playing with the Nike Academy.

Despite missing out on the traditional Academy upbringing his natural ability and eye for goal made him a stand out from the crowd.

After failing to force his way into Neil Lennon’s side he went on loan to Melbourne Victoria in January 2014 in a bid to earn a place in Australia’s World Cup side.

Unfortunately injury ruled Rogic out of a place in the squad for Brazil but after impressing at Celtic last season he has signed a new deal keeping him in Glasgow until 2019.
