Despairing Mark Warburton has turned to talking up getting Phillipe Senderos on TRIAL.

The 31-year-old has failed to find a regular game at Fulham, Valencia and Aston Villa since being freed by Arsenal and was recently released by Grasshoppers after signing a six month deal.

With no sign of Dave King releasing his £30m transfer warchest Warbo has turned to Senederos, who bears an uncanny resemblance to a young Warbo, to provide competition to Clint Hill, Danny Wilson and Rod Kiernan.

Talking up the prospect of landing the 31-year-old Warbo told Rangers TV: “He is training for a week with us, we spoke to Philippe and to his agent and obviously he is a very talented player with a very impressive CV.

He looks very good technically from his background and physically he looks in good shape so we will have him in for a week and then see what that leads to.”

While Senderos arrives at Murray Park on trial Warbo may be on the verge of paying out his first transfer fee of the summer.

Preston have received a bid for Joe Garner with manager Simon Grayson talking the offer over with the player.

Should the bid be accepted the payment terms could turn out to be a stumbling block with the Championship side uninterested in a payment plan with a company that has a going concern warning against their accounts.

Hearts are the only club to have accepted a transfer fee from Sevco, six months after accepting a deal for David Templeton the Edinburgh side were in administration.
