After a fortnight of ridiculous hype Celtic comfortably disposed of Sevco to maintain their 100% start to the SPFL seasons.

Those that anticipated a hard fought classic were badly let down as Celtic comfortably disposed of last season’s second tier champions with the minimum of fuss.

Moussa Dembele was the headline act from the match tucking away a hat-trick with the composure of a striker much more streetwise than the Frenchman’s 20 years with just over two months spent in Glasgow.

The match was very much about Brendan Rodgers with the Irishman again demonstrating his tactical flexibility to ensure success.

A couple of weeks ago Stuart Armstrong was watching from the stand as Celtic beat Hapoel Beer Sheva and wondering what sort of future he had, if any under his new manager.

Yesterday Armstrong replaced Tom Rogic early in the second half, played an entirely different role to the Australian and capped his display with a stoppage time goal that had hundreds of Celtic fans racing to the bookies to collect on 5-1 forecasts.

After the match Rodgers said: “Moussa could play every week but I have to make the team work. Sometimes he will play, sometimes he won’t.

“Leigh is a wonderful finisher but it wasn’t his day today, it was Moussa’s day and the rest of the guys.

“So, three great goals, a 20-year-old player, you can see he is a big talent and hopefully he has come to a club who can develop that talent.”
