Chris Sutton feels that Celtic have nothing to wrry about over Svott Brown’s international return- provided it’s a one off.

After standing down from international duty at the start of the season the Celtic skipper is set for a dramatic return to the dark blue jersey when Scotland visit Wembley next month.

Brown has been in astonishing club form this season, driving the hoops forward domestically and into the group phase of the Champions League.

His performance in the 3-3 draw against Manchester City eclipsed anything on show from the visitors with Brown set to get another opportunity to show an English audience his ability.

Most Celtic fans are concerned that their skipper’s return to international duty could impact on his club form with the midfielder very much Brendan Rodgers man on the pitch.

Sutton has been delighted by the form of the former Hibs midfielder and doesn’t feel that a one off return for Scotland will have any impact on Brown’s Celtic form.

So long as this is an answer to an SOS and a one-off game, I don’t see the issue,” he explained in the Daily Record.

It’s not a double-header. It’s a one-off game on a Friday night when Celtic don’t have any matches either the midweek before or the midweek after, so it’s not a big deal.”

Sutton added: “Rodgers appears adept at getting Brown’s preparations right along with the rest of the squad and I’m pretty certain he is going to understand why the player, who has been inducted into the Hall of Fame, wants to help his country in a time of need.

The Celtic manager’s handling of him and the rest of the squad has been excellent and you can see why they are at full power.

Rodgers runs the show and the players must feel a million dollars.

The manager is doing everything for them and they must have had their chests puffed out when getting a flight home from Dingwall the other night.

Rodgers knows making his players feel good is just as important as the recovery and the players can see that he will get what they need.

Could you imagine what the response would have been if it was Ronny Deila asking for an aeroplane back from Inverness Airport?

Yes, me too. But Rodgers rules the roost and no wonder his troops will go through brick walls for him.”
