Willie Henderson fears that it may already be too late to stop 10-in-a-row.

During the early sixties Henderson was an Ibrox hero as Jim Baxter and co rubbed Celtic’s noses in it until the arrival of Jock Stein.

A golden era of tax paying football was kicked off as Celtic competed with the best in Europe with nine consecutive titles picked up along the way.

Having lived through one era of Celtic domination Henderson fears that he is in the midst of a re-run as Brendan Rodgers attempts to make it 6-in-a-row.

Charles Green’s tribute act celebrated moving into second place yesterday but after being played off the park in successive derbies Henderson has an ominous feeling about what lies in store.

Stopping Celtic just now I simply can’t see,” he told The Sun as he attempted to promote a Legends Night alongside John Greig.

Until the investor — if there’s one out there — wants to come along and put a lot of money into Rangers then there’s going to be slow progress.

You’ve got a situation where Brendan Rodgers has taken over and it’s fairly easy to see that they’re in a different position now to what they were in the last couple of years.

The fact they brought Rodgers in, how he’s got things organised, the players he’s got, some are getting £40,000 a week.

If someone is on £40,000 a week and someone is getting £7,000 a week you’re going to get better players.

I think the fact they brought Rodgers in, the juggernaut will be hard to stop on the way to ten under the present situation at Ibrox.”

While Brendan Rodgers identified Moussa Dembele for his strike force Mark Warburton splashed out three times as much money on Joe Garner.

The wages of Joey Barton, Niko Kranjcar, Phillipe Senderos and Jordan Rossiter are more than Celtic are paying for Scott Sinclair and Kolo Toure combined.

Eighteen months after the transparency revolution led by Dave King the South African based criminal has still to invest a penny of his own money into the company. Others including Douglas Park have contributed loans totalling £10m which are due for repayment in December 2017.
