Brendan Rodgers has told his players to dismiss title talk ahead of Saturday’s clash with Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

The midweek results saw the hoops move seven points clear of Derek McInnes side opening up the prospect of a double dig lead if Rodgers side come out on top on Saturday.

Celtic have won eight and drawn one of their opening nine SPFL matches while making their way to the final of the Betfred Cup where they will meet Aberdeen next month.

After dealing with treble talk following their Hampden success Rodgers is now guarding his players against talk of Saturday’s match getting billed as a league decider!

The trip to the north east comes in the middle of a hectic spell that also involves a Champions League visit to Germany to take on Borussia Monchengladbach.

Rodgers made eight changes to his first pick XI for the Ross County match and enjoyed a live look at some of his fringe players in action.

Stuart Armstrong was many supporters man-of-the-match with the midfielder playing with a level of belief that appeared to have been drained out of him last season.

With a multitude of options to choose from in the centre of the park Armstrong looks to be getting very close to a starting berth.
