Kristoffer Ajer’s agent has admitted that he may be looking to get his client out on loan in January.

The 18-year-old made a big impact on Brendan Rodgers in pre-season matches but has found competitive minutes elusive.

Ajer was left out of Celtic’s Champions League squad and has had to settle for playing in the Development League and the u-19 Champions League.

Asked about a loan deal in January by Norwegian website RB Ajer’s agent Tore Pedersen said: “We will look at that, we have an ongoing dialogue about it with Celtic. At the moment they are happy with things.

Kristoffer is on track and is very happy. For him it is a big step up in terms of training everyday. There is a huge expectations for Celtic.

Although it is in some way a minor league, so there is huge interest. They have serious demands on everything around the club.”

Ajer agreed a pre contract deal with Ronny Deila in February but never got to play under the Norwegian.

Rodgers however was quickly impressed by the teenager who stepped back into defence rather than play in his usual midfield role.

Speaking in pre-season about his move Ajer said: “I’m most looking forward to just being a professional footballer and living out my dream, to walk out at Celtic Park in front of thousands of supporters and hopefully score some goals and celebrate in front of so many people.

I do extra training a lot by myself and I always picture this in my head and I really think it will be similar to what I will actually experience at Celtic.

“I am really looking forward to the big change from Norway to playing in front of so many fans. I’m really proud to become a Celtic player.”
