Mark Hill was on the scoresheet as Scotland’s u-19 side beat Sweden 2-0 at the new Oriam training complex in Edinburgh.

The indoor facility will allow players to train all year round and is equipped to host underage international matches.

The Celtic midfielder scored the second goal as he cashed in on a mistake by Swedish keeper John Hakansson.

This season Hill is in his second term as a regular in the Celtic Development side enjoying the unique combination of playing in the UEFA Champions League, Irn Bru Cup and Development League.

Speaking to The Sun after the win over Sweden Hill said: “My target is to break into the first team now, but it’s hard because they are playing so well at the moment.

The Irn-Bru Cup earlier in the season was a good experience because we were able to play against men, which we’re not used to.

I know in Spain they have colt teams in the lower leagues, so it would be good to try that out here and see how far we can get.

I’m happy at Celtic. I’m training every day and doing extra work in the gym to achieve my goals.”

Celtic’s Development side are in action today when they take on Partick Thistle at Firhill with the match kicking off at 1pm.

Due to their Champions League commitments Tommy McIntyre’s side are having to catch up with fixtures.

Despite having half a dozen players away on international duty Celtic beat Hearts 3-1 on Monday night, on Monday night McIntyre’s squad are away to Dundee with the match kicking off at 6pm.
