Aberdeen warmed up for next Sunday’s Betfred Cup Final with an impressive 3-1 win away to Inverness Caley Thistle.

The win cuts Celtic’s lead at the top of the table down to 10 points but the hoops have a game in hand and have won home and away against Derek McInnes’ side.

Caley Thistle took the lead in the 15th minute when Lonsana Doumbouya headed home from a Ross Draper cross.

Kenny McLean levelled the scores in the 28th minute when he scored from a free kick with Adam Rooney putting the Dons in front from the penalty spot five minutes later.

With one minute left to play McLean sealed the points for Aberdeen to maintain their one point lead over third placed Sevco who scraped past Dundee thanks to an injury time goal from Harry Forrester.

That goal means that Sevco are 11 points behind Celtic- and 11 points ahead of bottom of the table Dundee.

Elsewhere in the top division Ross County won 4-2 away to Dundee with Motherwell winning 2-0 at home to Partick Thistle.
