Bertie Auld has enjoyed more Celtic successes than most- but that didn’t prevent the Lisbon Lion from hooping it up at Hampden today.

Shortly after Moussa Dembele put Celtic 3-0 in front the lights went on around Hampden- to celebrate the greatest triumph of the 100 trophies Celtic have claimed.

Starting in the 66th minute and going past 67 fans held aloft their mobile phones while singing In The Heat of Lisbon.

Watching from a corporate box was the bold Bertie who stood up at the front of the box, banging on the window to celebrate that incredible day in Portugal.

Auld was in the Celtic squad but failed to make the team for the 1957 League Cup Final win over Rangers (IL) the biggest winning margin in the club’s history of finals.

He supplied two of the goals in 1965 against Dunfermline as Jock Stein returned the glory days to the club and even played against the hoops as a Hibs player in the 1972 Scottish Cup Final.

As a regular at every home match he remains very much in touch with the fans- as his Hampden exuberance demonstrated!.
