The number of fans arrested following the violence that marred the Scottish Cup Final in May has broken through the 100 barriers.

Despite misguided claims from elsewhere none of those arrested have been charged with attacking Sevco players.

Trouble broke out at Hampden after hundreds of Hibs fans raced on to the pitch to celebrate their side’s dramatic 3-2 win which ended a 114 year wait to win the trophy.

Several Sevco fans then took to the pitch in what was later described on the club website as an act of self defence.

Fighting took place across the pitch between rival sets of supporters before mounted police restored order allowing Hibs to be presented with the trophy.

According to the BBC: “A further six men have been arrested in connection with violence and disorder at the Scottish Cup Final in May.

There have now been a total of 102 arrests since the match between Hibernian and Rangers at Hampden Park. Fans spilled onto the pitch after the final, which Hibernian won 3-2.

The latest men arrested are aged 17, 18, 22, 32 and two men aged 23. Police Scotland confirmed a report would be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”

No breakdown has been given of which clubs the arrested fans supported however all Sevco tickets were balloted among season ticket holders.

Despite the shameful scenes being beamed worldwide no action has been taken by the SFA against either club.
