Gavin Rae has tipped Mark Warburton to lead Sevco to glory.
The former city trader has won five out of twelve matches in the top flight raising questions as to whether he really does possess a magic hat.
In the recently published company accounts chairman Dave King highlighted the fact that Warbo had been given a budget that is significantly higher than all bar one club in the Premier League.
On Saturday Sevco host Dundee at Ibrox knowing that anything less than a win will increase the pressure on Warbo as they scrap for second place with Aberdeen, Hearts and St Johnstone.
Rae, who picked up an EBT for £376,000 during his three year stint at Ibrox, is now based in Australia but is confident that Warbo will come good at the tribute act.
“It must be so frustrating for Warburton that he made such an effort to sign Kranjcar and Barton and now he is without both of them,” the former Ibrox midfielder told the Daily Record.
“It’s been tough for him trying to hit the ground running in the Premiership but I admire him for sticking to his guns.
“I like the way Rangers play, the way they try to keep possession. That’s the way football should be played.
“I’m not sure if it has been tougher than he thought it was going to be but it’s a challenge for him and something he has got to get to grips with but it’s only the first season back. I’m sure Rangers will be challenging in no time.”
Having brought in 11 new wages during the summer it’s unlikely that Warbo will be able to bring in any new players during the January transfer window.
