Charlie Miller believes that Mark Warburton has stumbled into a three man midfield that can shake up Scottish football.

While Stuart Armstrong, Tom Rogic and Scott Sinclair grab the headlines at Celtic across the city a mini revolution is underway that has yielded four points and two goals from Ross County and Dundee.

Joey Barton’s £1m pay off and a season ending injury to Nick Kranjecar may have robbed Warbo of his marquee signings but with strength in depth two stars have re-emerged from the shadows joined by a little known ace who was plucked from Accrington Stanley.

Explaining the quiet revolution to Evening Times readers Miller said:“It was unfortunate how the Barton situation ended up and Kranjcar has been unlucky with his injury. But it has given (Andy) Halliday, (Jason) Holt and Windass a chance to play together.

If they can keep them fit then I think they could have a great second half of the season.

I thought against Ross County they looked a bit jaded and maybe they needed the break but those three have the jerseys so let them play and see how far they go.”

On Saturday Partick Thistle face a Sevco side that can go second in the table with a win across the city at Firhill.

After that the going gets tougher for the tribute act who take on Hearts at home and away, St Johnstone, Aberdeen and Celtic before Dave King cracks open his January warchest.

Charlie Miller made his Rangers (IL) debut at 17 but after teaming up with Paul Gascoigne he failed to fulfill his potential.
