Chris Sutton saluted Brendan Rodgers following Celtic’s 3-0 Betfred Cup Final win over Aberdeen.
It was the 100th major trophy in Celtic’s history with Sutton making a big contribution to that haul during a four and a half year stint at the club.
Sutton was an outspoken critic of Ronny Deila for two seasons with his frustrations at the way the club was going obvious in his media contributions.
Yesterday 13 of the 14 players used by Rodgers were already at the club, Moussa Dembele being the exception, with the impact of the Irishman obvious to all.
Playing a fast paced pressing game Celtic were too strong for Aberdeen in all the attacking areas while the defence completed the competition without losing a single goal.
Goals from Tom Rogic, James Forrest and Dembele delivered Celtic their 100th major trophy with Aberdeen rarely able to pose a threat to the destiny of the final.
Sutton was the co-commentator to Derek Rae for BT Sport during the match and shared his opinions on twitter throughout the 90 minutes.
