Celtic beat Aberdeen 2-0 at Hampden to lift the Betfred Cup- the 100th major honour in their dazzling history.
Six months after replacing Ronny Deila, Brendan Rodgers was the prize guy as the hoops proved too strong for Derek McInnes side who won the trophy in 2014.
Despite the loss of the injured Scott Sinclair Celtic were too strong in every area and never looked back from the 15th minute when Tom Rogic opened the scoring.
Jozo Simunovic was the architect of the goal showing great determination to feed the ball out right to the Australian who cut inside to curl a great 20 yarder into the net.
What a strike! @Tom_Rogic curls home a beauty to give @celticfc the advantage at Hampden. ???? #BetfredCup https://t.co/gA011x7bWI

It was one way traffic towards Joe Lewis in the Dons goal with James Forrest doubling the lead in the 36th minute following a great driving run followed by a low drive from just outside the box.

Aberdeen enjoyed some pressure early in the second half but after Stuart Armstrong was sent crashing in the penalty box Moussa Dembele put the issue beyond doubt.
It’s that man @MDembele_10! The in-form striker slots home from the penalty spot. 3-0 @celticfc. #BetfredCup https://t.co/0TJ4L5LUBi
