Larsson reveals his one big regret

Henrik Larsson has revealed the one regret that he has in his career- quitting Manchester United.

The Celtic legend returned to Helsingborgs in July 2006 straight after helping Barcelona to lift the Champions League against Arsenal.

Six months later, during the Swedish close season, Larsson got an offer to go on loan to Old Trafford where he made 3 appearances, scoring three times.

Rather than see out the season with Manchester United and pick up a Premier League medal the Swede stuck to his word and returned to Helsingborgs after just two months in England.

Throughout his career Larsson made a habit of sticking by his contracts but looking back he’d do things differently about his Old Trafford exit.

That’s the only regret I have in my career,” he told FourFourTwo. “I should have stayed, as it would have meant I got a Premier League winner’s medal, and I would have stayed for one more season. But I still had a contract with Helsingborgs and I feel that when you sign a contract, you have to see it out.

Larsson returned again to Helsingborgs as a coach but that ended bitterly two weeks ago when they were relegated in a play-off.

After the defeat to Halmstad Larsson and his son Jordan were attacked by Ultra fans with the Celtic legend resigning shortly afterwards.
