Rob Kiernan has been offered a two match SFA ban for his punch at Steven Anderson during Wednesday’s 1-1 draw at St Johnstone.

Referee Crawford Allan failed to notice the incident which occurred in the 42nd minute of the match.

The punishment kicks in immediately but an appeal from Sevco will allow the former Accrington and Yeovil stopper to appear against Celtic tomorrow.

Kiernan has until 3pm on Wednesday January 4 to lodge his appeal with Thursday January 5th set aside for the hearing.

The charge has been issued by the SFA Compliance Officer Tony McGlennan who is believed to be on holiday at the moment.

Tomorrow’s Ibrox clash will be refereed by Steven McLean whose brother started off his football career with Rangers (IL).

McLean took charge of Celtic’s 1-0 win at Aberdeen earlier in the season giving a typically erratic display that saw Adam Rooney and Johnny Hayes go unpunished after a joint atack on Scott Brown.
