Kiernan will escape SFA ban for punch

Rob Kiernan looks like escaping retrospective punishment for a televised punch because SFA Compliance Officer Tony McGlennan is on holiday!
The Sevco defender had a night to forget as he set up St Johnstone’s equaliser in a 1-1 draw and punched Stevie Anderson in front of the BT Sport cameras.
Referee Crawford Allan also missed the incident and according to a report in The Sun Kiernan will escape retrospective punishment because McGlennan is on holiday.
It seems incredible that a high profile well funded organisation like the SFA are unable to apply justice within 24 hours for a referee’s honest mistake although the cynics may suggest that allowing the former Yeovil and Accrington star to play against Celtic on Saturday is a club punishment.

Speaking after the match Anderson told The Sun: “Kiernan punching me? It was a corner and he caught me in the ribs. Brian Easton saw it as well. It was a clear punch.
“If that’s the way he wants to play, it’s up to him — but he’s going to get done for it.
“You can’t do that in football games. If it gets highlighted then he deserves it.
“There was nothing happened before it. I was marking him at a corner and there was a bit of argy bargy — then he punched me.
“The referee said he did not see it and you can understand it because there was a lot going on in the box. The linesman has probably not seen it either.”
Kiernan is apparently a £2m transfer target for Fulham but even the hyped up English market will realise that a deal could probably be done with one zero dropping off that figure.
