Robert Snodgrass has turned down the offer of a new contract from Hull City.
According to a report in The Mail the 29-year-old doesn’t want to commit himself to a club involved in the relegation battle.
Snodgrass is out of contract at the end of this season but Hull have the option to impose a 12 month extension before January 1.
If the club impose that clause they could find themselves with an unhappy player on their books rather than attempt to cash in with a fee in January.
Over the last few years the midfielder has been involved in constant relegation battles with Hull and Norwich.
While the financial rewards are high Snodgrass hasn’t won any trophies in his career and will be well aware of the impact that Brendan Rodgers is creating at Celtic.
The Scotland favourite has never hidden his support for Celtic despite turning down the chance to sign as a teenager in favour of the shorter route into first team football offered to him by Livingston.
Adding another goal-scoring midfielder is bound to appeal to Rodgers but everything will depend on whether Hull invoke the 12 month option in his contract.
