How on earth did Stuart Armstrong fail to pick up the SPFL Player of the Month award for November?

With all respect to Hearts striker Bjorn Johnsen his efforts last month pale into insignificance compared to the contribution of the Celtic midfielder.

Armstrong started the month of by helping Celtic to a 1-1 draw away to Borussia Monchengladbach and although he wasn’t in top form he always showed for the ball and made his contribution to an impressive result.

Next up he showed his adaptability by switching to right-back in the 3-0 win over Inverness Caley Thistle and collected the Man of the Match award as well as being dubbed the Blonde Cafu by his manager.

After a brief international break Armstrong was the match winner as Celtic secured three vital points with a 1-0 win away to Kilmarnock.

Following that there was a 2-0 defeat at home from Barcelona in the Champions League before the month was completed by picking up a Betfred Cup winners medal in Celtic’s 3-0 win over Aberdeen at Hampden.

In comparison Johnsen scored twice in a 3-0 home win for Hearts over Motherwell with the Edinburgh side winning two and drawing two from their four SPFL fixtures

Robbie Neilson was voted Manager of the Month.
