In the end it was a day of joy for the Celtic support at Ibrox as their team took full points and the roof remained intact.

The first 20 minutes was a strange experience as Celtic made their hosts look competent but once Scott Sinclair started to see more of the ball on the left the script looked similar to the one enjoyed at Hampden and Celtic Park.

Moussa Dembele’s goal took the wind out of the home side as they realised that they were in for one hour of hard labour against a team superior to them in every area of the park.

Referee Steven McLean stopped the game at every opportunity, one first half advantage decision was incredible, but this Celtic side wasn’t going home with less than three points.

After creating four or five good scoring chances Stuart Armstrong opened up the home defence, fired in the perfect pass with  Sinclair doing the rest.

Apart from a Kenny Miller shot that hit the post there were no real scares as Celtic won in style with Dembele playing down the clock with a series of corners towards the end of the match.

With a 19 point lead at the top, the Betfred Cup in the trophy room and fresh memories of the Champions League Celtic fans worldwide will enjoy a very happy new year- HHAIL HHAIL
