Moussa Dembele has thanked the Celtic support for helping him to be crowned as French u-21 player of the year.

The former Fulham striker picked up the award from TF1 tonight after five sensational months at Celtic.

Dembele was Brendan Rodgers first signing after taking charge of Celtic with a £500,000 development fee paid to the London club.

Celtic’s 3-3 draw with Manchester City in the Champions League was the match that put Dembele on the international stage with French u21 honours following soon after.

Dembele followed up his double against Manchester City by scoring a penalty in Celtic’s 1-1 draw away to Borussia Monchengladbach after he had been brought down in the penalty box.

Despite the goals drying up recently Dembele has continued to make a big impact on the Celtic side with Brendan Rodgers in no doubt that his star signing is capable of going to the very top of the game.
