Chris Sutton has offered his opinion in the ‘great’ Joey Garner debate.

The £1.8m Sevco striker has apparently become a cult figure because fans of the Ibrox clu have managed to come up with a song that doesn’t mention the Pope.

Three goals in 16 appearances isn’t really much to sing about but showing the sort of scoring instinct that made Filip Sebo such a favourite seems to be working a treat for the former Preston journeyman.

In a bid to deflect attention from that scoring record the Joey Garner song has been jumped upon but it seems that old school Sutton isn’t much of a fan.

While Garner becomes a one hit wonder fellow ‘strikers’ Kenny Miller and Martyn Waghorn are battling for a support role to the main act.

Miller has yet to be offered a new contract despite apparently being a model pro while Waghorn told listeners to TalkSPORT that he’s hoping to discuss a new contract early in the new year

Garner has scored three goals and collected five bookings in 16 appearances.
