Rod Stewart will be the headline act as Celtic pay tribute to the fiftieth anniversary of the Lisbon Lions.

According to a report in The Sun Rod will lead a host of stars at the Hydro from May 24-28 as Celtic salute their greatest ever team.

Full details have still to emerge about the celebrations but with Rod on board some of the biggest names in the music business are likely to be involved.

The singer became friendly with the Celtic side of the early seventies and has never been shy about highlighting his support.

In 1995 he opened the North Stand at Celtic Park and was presented with a seat for life in the directors box.

When Celtic beat Barcelona in 2012 he was seen in tears at the end of the match and has been a regular visitor whenever his diary has allowed.

The celebrations will be completed with a match at Celtic Park between Henrik’s Heroes and Lubo’s Legends.
