Dedryck Boyata is putting Anderlecht on hold in the hope of getting a move to England.

According to a report in The Sun the Belgian side have stepped up their bid to take the defender on loan to Brussels but the defender is in no rush to make a decision.

Boyata is currently in Dubai with Celtic but after making just one first team appearance in the first half of the season realises that he has little future at the club.

Celtic would be willing to sell the 26-year-old but with two and a half years left on his contract the defender will have the biggest say on his future.

A loan deal seems more likely with Boyata having played less than 100 competitive matches.

Ronny Deila paid Manchester City £1.5m for the defender in June 2015 but Boyata failed to make anything like the impact of Jason Denayer.

Despite Eoghan O’Connell going out on loan to Walsall and the possible departure of Boyata Celtic are still well covered in central defence with Kolo Toure and Mikael Lustig capable of stepping in if Erik Sviatchenko or Jozo Simunovic are unavailable.
