Andrew Dallas will referee at Celtic Park for the first time tomorrow night when he takes charge of the SPFL match with St Johnstone.

The FIFA listed official has been used sparingly in Celtic matches with many observers surprised that he was on the FIFA list without having taken charge of a game involving the Scottish champions.

Last season Dallas was given his first Celtic match when he took charge of the Scottish Cup tie away to Stranraer.

This season he was the man in the middle for the Dundee v Celtic match in October and missed a clear cut penalty when Erik Sviatchenko was sent crashing to the deck in the penalty box.

In the Daily Record former ref Charlie Richmond said: “He took a bit of stick for that decision but I really hope when it comes to Andrew Dallas that fans look beyond the name.

He will go through his refereeing career being compared with his father, something he must overcome.”
