Dembele meets striking, and transfer, legend in Dubai

|

Moussa Dembele met up with one of the most transferred strikers in the game as he enjoyed a break from Celtic’s training camp in Dubai.

If you need to know anything about the world of football transfers then there’s no doubt that Nicolas Anelka is the man.

Arsene Wenger was the first manager to spot the potential of the young striker, snatching him from Paris St Germain for £500,000 and being rewarded with a key role in Arsenal’s 1998 double winning success.

A year after scoring in the FA Cup Final win over Newcastle, at the age of 20, Anelka was into the big time with a £23m move to Real Madrid, giving Arsenal at £22.5m profit and two and a half years service.

Nice to meet up with @nicolasanelka_official yesterday ???????????????? Thanks for all the advices ????

From Real it was back to PSG followed by stints at Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Juventus with a few less exotic stops included at Bolton and West Brom.

Dembele could possibly be turning out for some of those clubs in the future but is delighted with the way that his career is developing after signing a four year contract with Celtic.

A full international cap seems likely under Didier Deschamps while Celtic fans enjoy the goals and ability of a 20-year-old who could go on to rewrite a few record books.
