Erik Sviatchenko is a deadline day target for Leicester City.

According to a report in The Sun the defender’s agent, Allan Bak Jensen, is due in Glasgow today for talks about his future.

The money madness of English football has left Celtic vulnerable today with last minute offers flying in for Craig Gordon, Moussa Dembele and now Sviatchenko.

Celtic paid Midtjylland £1.5m for Sviatchenko a year ago with the defender one of the few success stories of last season as Ronny Deila’s side limped to the title.

Sviatchenko had been the first choice central defender under Brendan Rodgers until the winter break. After being suspended for the Scottish Cup tie at Albion Rovers he has had to watch from the bench the matches against St Johnstone and Hearts with Dedryck Boyata partnering Jozo Simunovic.

Leicester are at the front of a queue of English sides interested in the defender with Celtic reasonably well covered in that area.

Rodgers is under no pressure to sell anyone but if an offer in the region of £10m comes in it may be difficult to turn down.
