Paranoid Mark Warburton has accused BT Sport of creating a conflict of interest.

On Friday Rob Kiernan was offered a two match suspension after being caught on telly delivering a punch at St Johnstone’s Steven Anderson.

The issue was commented on by Steven Craigan who was covering the match for the broadcaster. Away from BT Sport Craigan coaches Motherwell’s u-20 side with the Fir Parkers net up at Ibrox on January 21 for a Scottish Cup tie.

Rather than criticise Kiernan’s lack of professionalism Warbo, who used to work as a city trader, decided to attack the messenger as he reacted to a possible two match ban.

I’m disappointed, in terms of coverage,” the Scotsman reported the Ibrox boss saying. “Coverage and conflict of interest, for me. That is my own personal view. That’s my view. It doesn’t sit right with me. To have criticism of that level, and the impact it could potentially have, it is a conflict of interest and something that has to be better.”

Perhaps if Warbo had the guts to name the person he believes has a conflict of interest his case might have some credibility.

If Kiernan’s suspension is upheld Warbo will be able to bring in former Arsenal stopper Philippe Senderos as a direct replacement.

Some Motherwell fans are also unhappy about the matter and would prefer to see Kiernan playing against Scott McDonald and Louis Moult in the Ibrox cup tie.
