Kouassi Eboue can’t wait to get to work with Kolo Toure.

Straight after getting a work permit to complete his £2.8m transfer from Krasnodar the teenager from the Ivory Coast spoke of his admiration for the former Manchester City and Liverpool defender.

When I was young I watched TV and supported him and now when I think I’ll play alongside him I’m really happy,” Eboue told the Celtic website about the influence of Toure.

When I knew he was here I asked about Celtic and I’m happy to be here with him. I will learn with him and Celtic has many good players so I will learn with them too. I knew of Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair and the captain, Scott Brown as well. I knew of Dedryck Boyata as well from when he played at Manchester City.”

Eboue added: “I want to say to the fans that I’m here, I’ve come to Celtic and I will give my best to be in the history of Celtic. I hope they will support and encourage me on the pitch and then they will be happy.

The 19-year-old will now be able to join in training sessions with his team-mates in Dubai and looks like featuring at some stage in the Scottish Cup tie against Albion Rovers.

Eboue only made his debut for Krasnodar in April of last year but made rapid progress as soon as he was in the first team.

Appearances in the group phase of the Europa League brought him to the attention of an international audience with Celtic making a move to sign him as soon as the transfer window opened.

Eboue, who will wear the number 88, is the sixth player that Brendan Rodgers has signed since replacing Ronny Deila with at least one more signing expected before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
