In February 2013 two of Neil Lennon’s January signings prepared for their Celtic debut away to Inverness Caley Thistle.

Coming a few days before facing Juventus in the last 16 of the Champions League there was an experimental look to the side.

Tom Rogic looked neat and inventive, Rami Gershon looked a solid defensive option with the bonus of scoring a goal.

While Rogic’s career has had it’s ups and downs there was to be just one more appearance for the Israeli internationalist.

Away to Ross County on 9 March he was in the Celtic side that lost 3-2 after going 2-0 up at the Victoria Ground.

And that was that.

While at Celtic Gershon retained his place in the Israel national side, he even managed a goal in a 3-3 draw with Portugal in a World Cup qualifier.

At the end of the season there was no talk about making the loan from Standard Liege permanent as he moved on to Beveren where he spent a season before joining Gent in 2014.

Last week, now aged 28, Gershon was at Wembley, putting one over on Victor Wanyama as Gent progressed in the Europa League at the expense of Spurs.

As a regular in the Gent side Gershon must look back and wonder what his four month stint with Celtic was all about.
