Celtic were given an injury boost ahead of Sunday’s visit to St Johnstone with Tom Rogic, Stuart Armstrong, Leigh Griffiths and Moussa Dembele all back in training.

The hoops have been without the goalscoring quartet for their last two matches but have maintained their winning run with victories over Hearts and Aberdeen.

Those results have put Brendan Rodgers side 25 points clear at the top of the table and just five wins away from making it six-in-a-row.

Rodgers has worked his squad perfectly but has been light on attacking options over the last two matches with Scott Sinclair and Patrick Roberts taking the main striking role.

Following Sunday’s trip to Perth the hoops have the rare luxury of a free midweek to prepare for their Scottish Cup tie with Inverness Caley Thistle.

Dembele is the player most likely to return against St Johnstone on Sunday, given an extra week to prepare Rodgers will be hoping to have most of his squad available for the Caley Thistle cup tie as the countdown to the prize days gets closer.
