The prospect of Celtic clinching the SPFL title at home to Sevco on March 12 is becoming more and more realistic.

Last night’s results pushed Celtic 25 points clear of the Ibrox side and 27 ahead of Aberdeen who have a game in hand.

Should Celtic beat Sevco on March 12 it would put the hoops 28 points ahead of the tribute act with Mark Warburton’s side having 14 other matches to play.

In the highly unlikely circumstances that they win all of those matches they will amass another 42 points putting them 14 ahead of Celtic.

The simple arithmetic from that is that five wins for Celtic or five defeats for Sevco will put #goingfor55 beyond the Ibrox side if they lose on March 12.

Before hosting the club from Ibrox Celtic face St Johnstone and Inverness away plus Motherwell and Hamilton at home.

Sevco have to visit Dundee and Inverness with Ross County and St Johnstone visiting Ibrox.

If Celtic win their four matches and Sevco fail to win any of their four matches a home win on March 12 will put the title beyond Warbo although Aberdeen may still be able to catch the hoops.

Should the title be won before March 12 the ever respectful Warbo faces the humiliation of his players forming a guard of honour to clap the champions onto the pitch.
