Rob Kiernan could be forced out of Ibrox after being abused by angry fans as he made his way to the players lounge.

The incident at half time during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Ross County.

With the visitors leading 1-0 at the break Kiernan was making his way to the players lounge when fans turned on the former Ireland youth team star.

According to a report in The Sun: “Kiernan’s latest shocking incident saw him targeted for bitter abuse from a number of Gers fans as he made his way to the players’ lounge — and several stewards had to intervene to prevent the flashpoint escalating.”

Sevco haven’t commented on the incident but it’s likely that the fans involved are paying the highest season ticket prices, in the report it’s claimed that Mark Warburton has spoken with the player about how to deal with the incident.

Kiernan joined the revolution in July 2015 and was one of the key figures in last season’s Championship and Petrofac Cup winning squad.

Like most of Warbo’s players he has struggled badly to cope with the step up to the Premiership with the club winning just 12 out of 24 matches in the top flight.

Earlier this season Davie Weir claimed that Kiernan was capable of playing in the Champions League.
